Re: [foxboro] AW70 XP and smtp

Sorry, I should have been clearer. When I say "firewalled" I usually mean
either externally, or internally using products like McAfee, and on a
handful or all ports, TCP and/or UDP, etc. And I also stated "remote
host", but it could also happen on the local box, as "we are smarter than
you" products like McAfee will block _outgoing_ ports like SMTP to protect
the Internet from your obviously malignant PC. I swear, I think the think
I like most about Unix is that it never assumes you are an idiot.

Glad you got it worked out.

It wasn't the switched off firewall.
It was this sh-t of mcaffee virusscan port blocking rule.

I found it out by checking the system using the port query tool from MS
and googling a bit.

C:\Documents and Settings\Fox\Desktop\portqry>portqry -n mySMTPServer -e
25

Querying target system called:

mySMTPServer=20

Attempting to resolve name to IP address...

Name resolved to 10.00.00.000

Error opening socket: 10053

An unspecified Winsock error has been encountered.

Andreas
