For each NIC there is an entry in /etc named hostname.lex and/or hostname.hmex
(The naming of these is another subject)
The name in here corresponds to an entry in /etc/inet/hosts.
Change the IP adress there and the system will (after boot) use THAT IP
adress.
You can do this without a reboot but since you are talking about "moving to a
new location" this would problably take very long cables ;-))
I would advise NOT to alter the name and/or IP for anything "Nodebuslike"
since you should use SysDef for that.
All NIC's have the same MAC address as you have noticed. This MAC address is
stored in the SUN systems's NOVRAM. That's why all network cards have this
same number.
Regards (I hope I did not miss the point completely)
