Re: [foxboro] AW51G floppy drives

The USB floppy "MUST" be plugged into the left USB port in the front
Of the Sun-Blade-1500 looking at it from the front. If not, device
linkages you want to use (fd0/rfd0) may not work. Look at the
"/dev/dsk" and "/dev/rdsk" directories and do an "ls -l".
If properly configured "/dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0" should be linked
to ../../devices/pci@e,600000/usb@a/storage@1/disk@0,0:h.

One option for you is to reference the device by the "cXt0d0s0"
in /dev/dsk/ for block and "/dev/rdsk" for raw which is connected=20
to a USB storage device, assuming it has been recognized.

Subject: [foxboro] AW51G floppy drives

Hello all,

I have recently had occasion to move files to and from the USB floppy=20
on an AW51G box. On one of the boxes I can easily mount and copy=20
files. The other doesn't seem to recognize the floppy drive at=20
all. Does the G box require the floppy to be plugged in when booted=20
so it's in the /dev directory? Is there a way to force the box to=20
recognize the USB floppy once it is up?

In a similar vein, I have mounted USB keys on F and G boxes with=20
varying degrees of success. Does anyone have a procedure that works
reliably.

Regards,
David
