To my knowledge it is not supported to have an internal disk mirrored with
an external one. (this applies to Ultrasparc 60 at least)
So both drives should be connected externally. Unless the AW51E is an
Ultrasparc 30 which uses ESP0 for both internal and external devices there
are some "tricks" required to "convert" a disk that was originally connected
to the internal ESP0 to work on the external ESP1 SCSI interface.
After doing this you can follow the standard routine to mirror the drive(s)
Mirroring supports replacement of faulty drives while the systems remains
on-line. This is why having internal drives is not a very usefull
configuration. In that case you still need to take down the system in order
to replace an internally failed drive.
I don't think you can mirror only one drive of the two because you mention a
concatenated configured drive. It would give you better odds if the second
drive was "pooled". Check the Solaris system adminstration guide (B0193ND)
on FoxDoc.
Regards. I hope I did not make things worse.

Subject: [foxboro] AW51E Mirroring Problem
Hi
I have AW51E machine with one internal hard drive and concatenated one
external hard drive on esp0.
One internal drive- Scsi Id 0
One External Hard drive- Scsi Id 2
Now I want to mirror it.
So
Is it possible to do mirroring on AW51E with one internal drive(esp0)?
What scsi id I have to kept for two external drives which are connected on
esp1.
