Re: [foxboro] AW51D as WP51D

There is an issue with the 6.4 DAY0 install. If falls to
The "ok" prompt because it can mount "usr", so just boot up off the DAY0
CDROM and replace the "/etc/name_to_major" file on the system hard drive.

ok> boot cdrom
After you login
# mount -o rw -F ufs /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /mnt_root
# cp /cdrom/name_to_major /mnt_root/etc
# umount /mnt_root

# reboot -- -r

If the box still "Panics" (reboots) at the blue screen (X has started) but
before DM comes up, this is indicative of "Death of a critical process".
Must then boot single user to check "fox_monitor_log" to try and understand
why?

Dear Mr. Gardener,
I selected the station as WP51D in SysDef and committed. The commit was
successful as per the contents of commit log file but when restarted the
station the station didn't come up. During reboot it came up to blue screen
and connected to the nodebus but restarted before showing display manager.
The station was already Day0ed from the factory with I/A software ver 6.4.
After this problem I performed a day0 with ver 6.4 CDROM and entered the
station type as WP51D during 'ia_install' procedure. At this time the day0
was completed successfully without any errors but the station didn't come up
and exited to ok prompt without connecting to nodebus.

Thanks,
Ali Ahmed Zahidi
