I never met a DDS2 tape drive that worked reliably on any 51
series machine ! (P0971DU is a DDS2, and I think P0971BR is DDS1)
Recommend replacment with a DDS3. Foxboro sells them, or you can
pick one up on the used SUN market for $300 to $500 (with/without
enclosure). Don't know why, but these seem to work all the time.
They're also quicker. There is a set of Mfg/Model that the IA
system understands out of the box, and script 'backup' does well
with those I've tried.
