Re: [foxboro] AW51C RAM

Thanks Alex & Frits for the suggestions

1. vmstat -S 5 showed no swapping happening. The swap space 230 MB
hardly seen used.=20

2. I do use the "top" utility to monitor AW performance. CPU load evenly
distributed.=20

3. vmstat 10 10 showed rare paging operations.

As Frits mentioned it seems to be normal Sun box operation

Thanks

It is fairly normal that your SUN box uses as much memory as it can.
That's the way they operate.
Run vmstat -S 5 and observe si and so.=20
If there is no swapping going on you should not have to worry.
Cheers,
Frits.

Hi List
=20
We have AW51C whose memory recently upgraded to 256 from 128 MB (from
two 64MB to four 64MB). Before upgrade there used to be at least 7or 8
MB free and very rare page outs.
=20
Immediately after upgrade there used to be 110MB free. But after 2 weeks
period, now the free memory read 7 MB. "vmstat" showed no abnormal
process running. We have couple of user created C programs are running.=20
=20
Degradation of memory caused by leak? How to find which program is
causing the memory leak? Or other possible issues?
