What you can probably do is first format the hard disk using the
18G paramters i.e. 7506/19/248 (c/h/s) and then do a ia_install.
I have done this thing on a AW51B with same pre-install you talk
about and ia_install does take place. Only funny thing is my AW51B
refused to boot up with 18G, so I had to settle for 9G. In your
case that shouldn't be the problem.
So following the underneath steps should get u thru'
- format the hard disk with 18G parameters
- tar the pre-install into /tmp
- run ia_install from /tmp
Thanks here goto Ron Deen who showed me the light when i was stuck
at the same place sometime back. Any errors were mine alone.
Do let me know how things move.

Subject: [foxboro] AW style D with internal 20 GB IDE hard disk
Hi all,
Does anyone of you already experienced with a DAY0 installation on AW sty=
le
D with an internal 20GB ide hard drive?(i'm using pre-install diskette K0=
175SN-F)
I've tried but ft_get_size is unable to determine the disk size..
Can i modify ft_get_size?...and then ..what to do?
Are 4300 and 8600 the only two supported disks?
Can i build a different partition table basing on SCSI 18GB?
