If you use Exceed 7 (the feature was included in Exceed 6 but it didn't =
seem
to work properly) there is the Hummingbird Neighborhood extension to =
the
Windows Explorer which uses the FTP protocol. You can =
copy/move/drag/etc.
files from Unix machines in Windows Explorer and Exceed cares about =
sending
the proper FTP commands. It is transparent, very convenient and no
configuration is necessary on the Unix side.

Sascha

Something else you may want to consider is loading SAMBA on your Unix
station. Then you won't have to use FTP to copy the files around. =
SAMBA
enables a Unix station to look like an NT server on your NT network. =
It's
free from www.samba.org <http://www.samba.org> , and it has worked =
great for
us on AW51E's. It's easy to install, set-up and use. Once you have =
SAMBA
installed, you can map a directory on the Unix station as a network =
drive on
your NT machine. You can then build batch files on the NT with the =
simple
"cp" command to copy files from the NT hard drive to the Unix network =
drive.
You can set up the security settings on the Unix machine so that it =
doesn't
even show up on an NT browse list, and so that only one NT PC or a =
small set
of NT PC's can access it.

I can give you some more information if you are interested.

Does anyone know if there are command line programs I can run to
convert
Foxdraw files between .g and .fdf and vice versa. I want to create
files on
windows NT, convert them to .g. Then FTP them out to a UNIX server
and
convert them back to .fdf without having to go out and do it on the
system
from Foxdraw. Thanks for the help.
