It is at the user's option to send them to the alarm page or not, using
Alarm Group and Group Device settings. Many sites do allow, even
expect the operator to clear alarms; that depends on the alarm handling
methodology of the particular operation. Further, with the configurability
or programability of the Alarm Manager, it is possible to selectivly allow
clearing of alarms, say on alarm type.
In my humble opinion, Foxboro gets good marks for design of the alarm
manager.
However, all that grand design is made confusing and useless to the "average
user" by poor configuration tools and very poor documentation on operation
of
the Alarm Manager and its configuration.
