Hi Andreas,

From your scenario it sounds like you want to configure the Aim
historian auto archiver.
This will allow you to choose to delete or copy tag data based a
combination of repository size and age criteria and set priorities on
the criteria.
Be aware though that this is not on a tag by tag basis but applies to
the entire database as this is the archiving setting for the repository.

Hope that was what you were looking for.

how can I configure how long the measurements should be stored in the
AIM*Historian?

Scenario: The user would like to configure "Delete measurement data
older than 3 days or 1 month or whatever ...". The Historian should work
like a ring buffer.

I've checked the AIM*Historian doc but I'm not 100 percent sure if it is
that what I'm looking for.

To select an AIM*Historian instance and define the time span:

Use the pull-down menu in the Duration field to specify the length of
the
interval.
The choices are 1, 4, 8, 24, 48, or 72 hours, or 1 week. The dialog box
defaults to
24 hours. When you select a duration, the wizard updates the Starting
Date and
Time field accordingly.
