Re: [foxboro] AIM* Historian / Datalink

Bill,
I am not familiar with AIM*Historian, but can you save the queries in a
text file and copy and paste them into AIM*? Just a thought.

I have an AW51D (Solaris machine) and AIM*Historian running on Windows
2000.
In order to gather historical data, I use the "Historian Browser" in
AIM*Datalink. This method is NOT time efficient because I am unable to
save
a query and make adjustment to the query at a later time (e.g. change
the
time range, sample frequency, and add/subtract points). =20

I followed Section 7 of the AIM*Datalink User's Manual (B0193YJ) to make
use
of the Historian Wizard Excel Add-In to overcome the inefficiency of the
"Historian Browser". However, excel becomes very unstable (frequently
crashes) to the point that I have to remove the Add-In.

Has anyone had success with the Historian Wizard Excel Add-In?

Does anyone have a method to save a historian query so that you are able
to
adjust the time range, sample frequency and add/subtract points at a
later
time? I tried to use the AIM* ODBC features, but found that the queries
are
extremely slow and the feature is also unstable.
