I should also add that the below commands are to be treated as light
switches.....

For every env file you turn something on or off....you must then put in each
env file what you want it to do or the previous commands will carry over...

In /usr/fox/wp/data the am_cmds file sets the initial permissions for AM's
whether local or remote.

TheN each environment file can then turn off or on permissions depending on how
the AM's buttons have been configured.

In the env files...entires like below can BE ADDED TO THE END OF THE FILE TO
turn off or on protections.:

/usr/local/pref -AM0001 amcmd "unprotect all"
/usr/local/pref -AM0001 amcmd "protect value 100"

also, commands like below can also enable or disable features that have not
been protected.

/usr/local/pref -AM0001 amcmd "unprotect all; enable clear"

Options;
The enable and disable commands control access to security-sensitive Alarm
Manager functions including acknowledging alarms, clearing alarms, and
silencing/muting/un-muting horns. Disabling the ack, clear or horns features
makes any button or menu item configured to execute these commands inactive
(grayed out) as shown below:

enable/disable ack Affects any button or menu item calling the functions:
                            ackalm, ackcmp, ackpage, and ackpage_cmp

enable/disable clear Affects any button or menu item calling the functions:
                            clear_alm or clear_page

enable/disable horns Affects any button or menu item calling the functions:
                            silence_horns, mute_horns, unmute_horns,
                            unmute_all_horns, mute_all_horns

Subject: Re: [foxboro] ACK button inactive in CAD

There are a lot of places to make this change... I'm a little lost as to where
i should add the lines to protect the action.

in "d:\opt\fox\env" we have no files.
in "d:\opt\customer\env" we have all the .mnu / .acl / .dbr / .env / .mbr files
none of these files interact with the AM

in "d:\usr\fox\customer\hi" there is a dmcfg.init file... this has almost
nothing in it...

in "d:\usr\fox\customer\config" we have foxboro.am which is a huge text file...
(~600KB)

I am not sure where or when this file gets executed Does anyone know what
'calls' this file to be executed - there are a few ".am" files in this folder
so I would like to confirm which one is executed...

Here is a sample from the file:

    3 MultiStBtnDef {
      Access CdbInt 100
      ButtonStates CdbList {
        0 BtnDef {
          Mnemonic CdbString ""
          StateCondition CdbString ""
          TxColor CdbColor 16 0 0 0  # FVindex
          BlinkRate CdbInt 0
          Action CdbString "clear_alm"
          ConfirmMessage CdbString ""
          Confirm CdbBool FALSE
          BgColor CdbColor 72 0 0 0  # FVindex
          Label CdbString "Clear Alarm"
        }
      }
    }

I deduce that within this statement i could add a Protection Level command....
but the structure of that eludes me... would it be "Protection ID 100" And
the file has many many entries for the same buttons... so I assume all of them
would requrie changing.

I cannot find the manual which describes how this file works...
