Just to follow up on my posting:
I found the connection that works and have pasted it here for all to use
set P0970VB or VN dip switches as follows
close- 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,11,12,13,14,15,16
set/wire rs-232 cable (COMM-10 to BAST) as follows
disconnect RTS (wire#4 on 25-pin) at BAS/T side
loop DTR to RTS (wire#20 to wire#4 on 25-pin) at I/A side
hope this saves time for others in the future

Subject: [foxboro] AB BAS-T module connection to COMM10
Hello list,
Our system has a configured ALMPRT (set as LP02) using a COMM10 via switch
P0970VN all working fine. I am now trying to connect an Allen Bradley BAS-T
(basic) module via serial link to the Foxboro system using this same port. I
have tried various dip-switch configurations (on the P0970VN) incl. the
basic 3-wire - all with no effect. The BAS-T module can be _sent_ data when
I connect using a PC via hyperterminal (using 3 physical wires - RXD, TXD,
COMM). But as soon as I connect to the IA port, no-go, whether I use 3-wires
or all. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on this
With thanks,
Wayne Curnuck
