Re: [foxboro] A mesh question

The ZCP270 support the use of FCMs on the Mesh network.

The Mesh network's redundancy depends on multiple connections between
switches.

In your case something like this might make sense:

C ---> Switch ---------- ... ------------   -> Switch -------> A
P       |   |                                     |            W
2       |   |                                     |            7
7-------> Switch ---------- ... -------------> Switch -------> 0
0       |  |
        |  |
        FCM -----> FBMs

You could go diagonally between the switches in the buildings, but that is
too hard to draw.

I didn't show the redundant FCMs and CPs either for the same reason.

If you retain your CPs, it would resemble:

C ---> Nodebus A ----- A ---> Switch ------- ... ----- Switch --- A
P                      T        |                        |        W
6 ---> Nodebus B ----- S ---> Switch ------- ... ----- Switch --- 7
0                                                                 0

|
+ FCM <---> FBMs
|
|
+ FCM <---> FBMs

The ATS can be redundant too, but it's too hard to draw and I think you
understand that part.

Does this help?

Subject: [foxboro] A mesh question

Given an existing V6 architecture that spans 2 buildings like this:

Building "A" contains the AW, and the CP's
Building "B" contains 2 WP's most of the FBM's a Comm10, and the AB
integrates.

Presently we have fiber between the buildings for nodebus extender, and
filedbus.

I'm thinking that when we upgrade to mes, I should put switches in both
buildings.
Given that I will have at least 4 fiber pairs between the buildings, is
there some way
I can "cross connect" the switch pairs in the 2 buildings to increase my
redundancy.
Assuming of course that the CP -> FBM communications moves to the nodebus.
