I've seen the same thing on 51D boxes running I/A 6.3 at one of my client
sites. It seems to involve having multiple applications running
simultaneously, including FoxSelect. Closing these causes the
keyboard/mouse to come back to life (I do it remotely from another box).

One thing that also helped us in one area was to put a UPS on the power
to
the USB and to the AW.
