Hi,
I'm trying to use a Seagate ST38410A (8.4 GB) hard drive in a D-style
AW/WP-51, but to no avail. The ia_install keeps reporting:
WARNING: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@0,0 (dad0):
corrupt label - wrong magic number
Even when I try to run format manually and entering all the physical data
for this particular drive, it still wouldn't do anything more than reporting
the same error above.
I got it from good authority (this list!) that this Seagate model can be
used in the D-style boxes.
Can anybody decipher the problem?
I'm using the F revision of the Preinstall diskette - K0175SN-F dated Oct.
2000. Is there something newer?
Thanks for your help.
