This is an interesting problem.
Problem :
1. Firstly from the online AW workstation ie. from the foxview reboot or
shutdown keys were not executing its command properly. Our intension was to give
a reboot, but the reboot key from the foxview is not executing its command.
Hence STOP-A command was given.
2.Now from the ok prompt , boot -r command was given , but the AW does not boot
to multiuser mode, but gets terminated at the ok prompt after a small start up
showing Foxboro logo. Even boot -rs was also given but of no use.
3. Tried several attempts to start up the system but ended up in failure.
Steps Taken :
1. Took a new set of Hard disks, Day zeroed, restored the dump back and booted
the system with boot -r . There was no errors shown in the start up and suddenly
system again got terminated at ok prompt. This AW was taken in stand alone mode
during the above restoration exercises. The system does not boot up in stand
alone mode but when I connected it to the node bus , the system booted up to
multiuser mode.
Question:
1. Why did the AW not boot to multiuser mode ?
2. Why did the AW not bootup to multiuser mode during standalone , instead
booted up when connected to node bus ?
Please do send your expert comments so that I could check .
Thanks
