[foxboro] Reboot error message

Upon rebooting, a WP51D (an Ultra 5/10 UPA/PCI (UltraSPARC-IIi 360MHz) @
90.0 MHz) keeps spitting out this message:

    Short read.  0x2000 chars read.

All the hits from a Google search suggest some kind of disk failure, or
problems resulting from installing new software/patch. I can rule out the
latter possibility, so do I have any hope of doing some kind of recovery on
this box? I can't even 'boot -s'.

Not a good Monday so far....
