[foxboro] R: Seagate 9.1G with IA 6.1 & AW51D

6.4day0 supports 9.1 and 20GB.

DESCRIPTION OF DIFFICULTY:
The ia_install script does not recognize the hard disk on an AW51D system.
The error message is: "ft_get_size, unable to determine disk size". The
system hard disk type is ST39140A. The script that is used during the
installation came from the pre-install diskette that came supplied with the
4.3 distribution materials. Is there a later ft_get_size script that would
recognize the system hard disk type indicated above?

8/26/99 - Response from TAC (HR):
The I/A install script does not support the ST39140A disk, which is a
9-gigabyte disk. The customer had been informed of this and they will
replace the internal drive to a smaller 4-gigabyte drive.
This CAR is now resolved.
Ciao

Oggetto: [foxboro] Seagate 9.1G with IA 6.1 & AW51D

Dear all,
we have an AW51D station - ULTRA5 with an internal HD (Seagate 9.1 HD -
ST39120A)
By installing I/A 6.1 day 0 using the preinstall 175SNF and the AW51D day 0
CD, we receive an error message "ft_get_size error".
Looking inside the extracted files under /tmp, the "ft_get_size" file does
not have support to that size of HD.Does any one have???

Ciao
