[foxboro] PI question

Here's a question for all you PI-on-Foxboro gurus out there. I was trying
to build my first PI output tag, meaning a tag whose value I can change from
a spreadsheet, for example, and have it automatically update on the I/A
system. It took several attempts using trial and error to identify a
Foxboro "object" that was compatible with this kind of operation. I
eventually ended up with getting a CALC.RI01 parameter as the
"InstrumentTag" in PI to work. I tried a REAL.VALUE and a CALC.M01, and
neither one of those worked.
Does anyone have a list of which types of Foxboro objects can be written to
by PI? I really wanted to use the REAL.VALUE, because those blocks don't
take up any scan time. Are those available to be written to, and I just
didn't do it right? Are AOS objects an even better solution? What do most
people use for PI output tags?
