[foxboro] P81 Printer

I have a quirk on the P81 when a print screen is done.
P81
2 gig ram
two 80 gig hard drives
I/A 7.1 UNIX
Color printer direct connected to the P81 (AW)
When a print screen is done from the AW or the WP the mouse will freeze for
about 5 seconds and occasionally parts of  the display will smirfed.
Refreshing the display will clear anything that smirfed.
Have any other P81 users seen this and if so what is the fix?
