[foxboro] Novice question about display manager licenses

I know this is a rookie question, but be gentle.
I have an AW51B at 6.5 with two Sun X-terminals, the AW has three
dedicated DM licenses. On occasion, if the xterm is shut down
improperly, the DM license doesn't quit, it's still running on the AW.
When the xterm boots back up, I get the "unavailable" message. The AW is
also running I/A batch, so rebooting is a last resort. I know I should
be able to kill the process and free up the license, but I don't know
what to look for. I tried using=20
ps -eaf |grep DM=20
but that's not it.=20
Would something like this work as an alternative:
pref -XTERM1 dmcmd "quitdm on; exit" where XTERM1 is the DM name.
