I'm investigating my options for connecting a proprietary Windows
application to a I/A Series Legacy Historian running on Solaris. =20
I've been told by Foxboro that the AIM*OPC Server won't work with the
Legacy Historian, but they mentioned the Datalink application, and
providing an ODBC interface.
A big part of my research is making my client-side code as standard as
possible, to avoid rework in the future, and I've also looked into a
Matrikon OPC Server for GDA(ODBC), given the above information regarding
Datalink.
Has anybody implemented a project that involved interfacing with the
Legacy Historian. Obviously, I'd be doing read-only, no write or
control.
Thanks,
