Hello List...
We have a G2 application (2000 Server) connected to our I/A DCS (50 series
on Solaris).
A function of G2 is to maximize our throughput by running our grinding mills
at max horsepower. Typical max horsepower on a smaller mill is 3100 hp. The
I/A Block display will show hp at 3100, however, G2 is reporting that the
incoming setpoint is 3099.303 and it tries to push up the horsepower by 1.
Since 3100.303 is beyond input range limits, the RSP is rejected. The rule
continues to fire, always trying to get the last increment. The point in the
dbm is configured as type float with a delta of "1". Is there a way to
resolve this issue without increasing traffic on the nodebus. Is this
something configurable on the I/A side, or should rules be added to G2 for
cessation if it's that close to Max? Would changing the data type be a
possible solution? Any help would be appreciated.
