A set of questions came across the Cassandra site regarding Foxboro A2
automation system from Invensys Foxboro.
Foxboro A2 is the small DCS from the Foxboro Automation product group. It
is designed for smaller applications and it is generally fit for a broad
range of industries and applications. Foxboro A2 is designed to be a
stand-alone product but it can also integrate to I/A via standard protocols.
It is not, nor will it be, a replacement or substitute for I/A. The product
line recently released a new controller - T2550 - one key feature is its
elegant on-line change control. Other features include optional control
redundancy, optional I/O redundancy. The new release provides control and
I/O on one platform and uses Wonderware as the HMI.
