[foxboro] Foxbatch Users

Hi List,
 
We are using Foxboro Batch software for Foxbatch Release 3.1, IA version
6.1 and FoxAPI version 4.2.5. Batch server running in AW51C box with 256
MB RAM, six batch clients running in WP51B box. CP used is CP40A FT with
control image version V2K_01.
 
We are facing typical problem of Batch Windows ie Batch Display, Batch
Scheduler disappear quite often (at least 2 to 3 months once). The
message dump indicates the error message "DB USERID is already being
used" appeared when this problem occurred. In the control run time
window Batch Mngr found in the stopped condition. No core file found.
FoxAPI running. Operating system parameters (Show_params) are with in
the limits. We had implemented the work around to increase the users
allowed by the lock manager from the default value of 16 to 50 and
increased the file descriptors to 1024. However the problem exists
 
Restarting the Batch Manager fix the problem. But the recurring problem
causes lot of production disturbances. I am in touch with local Foxboro
support / EMEA. In mean time, any help to solve the problem is highly
appreciated.
