[foxboro] FW: LimeWare Company

List,

Attached is the correspondence I've had with Ricardo Abech. He assured
me that his company will no longer send out unsolicited mailing to
addresses harvested from this list. For that I thank him for his
understanding and cooperation.

The irony is Limeware receives much publicity from this episode among
the I/A user community for doing the wrong thing. What do y'all say we
won't be this gentle against the next transgressor. ;-)

Duc

Mr Duc Do,

LimeWare has decided not to send anymore unsolicited e-mails for people
in this list. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience.

I am not doing this to gain access back to the list, but doing it
because it is the right thing. We have a great product and we will
market this product in other ways.

Please pass on my apologies to everyone.

Regards,

Mr Abech,

I'll get right to the point....

The fact that these people's e-mail addresses were added to your
newsletter distribution list without their consent fits the definition
of spam: Unsolicited Commercial E-mail. Your newsletter was sent
unsolicited, and was of a commercial nature. It is spam. Just including
an unsubscribe link in your mailing does not absolve you from your
action of sending UCE.

Until you can assure me that every e-mail address that you harvested
from monitoring the foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx mailing list is purged from
your newsletter distribution list, and no more unsolicited newsletter is
sent to any and all of these addresses, you are blocked from
participating on the list.

Regards,

Duc

Dear Mr. Duc Do,

Hi, my name is Ricardo Abech. I just saw the latest Freelists e-mails
(as I usually do everyday) and I noticed that my Company's latest
newsletter has been labeled as a spam or an intrusive action by some
users on Freelists that received the e-mail. I think there is a small
misunderstanding and we really want to apologize for any discomfort that
may have been caused.

I really would like to clarify the situation with everybody on the
Freelists Forum. Let's start with me. I am a former control engineer
from Copesul, a leading petrochemical producer in the south of Brazil
that has the second largest FoxI/A installation in our country. For 7
years I was in charge of our Foxboro I/A DCS. As many of you, I used the
tips provided in this forum many times and I understand the value and
objective of this forum. I left my previous company and have opened
LimeWare with some others DCS/APC engineers. LimeWare's main product is
foxray what you probably already know about. Actually some features of
foxray were built based on problems and requests in Freelists Foxboro
Forum.

LimeWare Company never intended to use Freelists as a direct marketing
channel and we never will. On behalf of Limeware Company I really would
like to apologize to everyone that felt intruded upon about the
newsletter we sent one way or another. We got a few e-mail addresses
from the Freelists because we thought that, as experienced Foxboro
users, some of the subscribers would be interested, or at least would
like to be aware, of such an application to help them manage their
Foxboro DCS and add value to their processes and business. Maybe we were
wrong, or not, but we are very sorry for all events. Our newsletter
contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page and we will
remove anyone who wishes to be removed from our newsletter immediately.
We are open to any suggestions and feedback. Please feel free to forward
this e-mail to anyone you deem necessary.

Best Regards,
