[foxboro] DNBT Extension

I need to connect a WP51E , 1Km away from a Nodebus temporarily. 
I do not want to use DNBX . There are existing fiber optic cores
between these locations and I have ethernet to F.O tranceivers
installed at both ends.  They are capable of distances upto 2Kms.
Can I extend the DNBT connection using this method ?

Is there any limitations/operational recommendation for extending
the DNBT connection ?
