[foxboro] RE : Barriers to migration to Windows

At plants where there is a very complicated wall between the IA stations and
the "free world" the memory stick is a very useful device for transferring
data. It is also useful for contractors who come to your site to install
patches, etc. or take data or dumps for analysis off-site. If you have a mix
of WinXP and Solaris, you can ftp solaris files to the memory stick.

However, you need to be certain that memory sticks are checked for virus,
trojans, etc. on a known good computer at your site, before you allow them to
be inserted into a 70 station. With the large memory sticks currently
available, the scan will take a few minutes so the temptation to bypass the
scan is appealing. Enforcement of this scanning practice is difficult but it is
critical.

Kevin,

Yes, USB sticks work on the AW70. For P92 models P380 and P390 (I/A
v8.1 and v8.2), USB ports are enabled out of the box. For P92 models
P360 and P370 (I/A v8.1 and v8.2), USB ports must be enabled in the BIOS
(hit F2 at boot-up). For P91 models, I don't recall if USB ports are
enabled or not out of the box, but they work on our one Windows 2003
server (I/A v8.1).

Do USB sticks even work on the AW70?
