Hello all,
I spent a little time yesterday talking to Kathy Grace, and working with
the Alarm Manager under FoxView, and boy did I learn a lot. One of the
things I learned, was that the Alarm Manager has environments sort of like
the FoxView environments. Who knew? You can see the environment by going
to the Alarm Manager and choosing Displays->Operations. In the bottom
middle box is the environment that the Alarm Manager is in. Changing the
environment in FoxView does NOT change the environment in the Alarm
Manager. (It can be made to change whenever user environments change with a
line in the .env file.)
All well and good, but what I want to know is does anyone out there use
environments in the Alarm Manager? Is there a compelling reason to set
these up and use them as opposed to setting AM protection classes in each
FV/DM environment and leaving the AM in the Initial environment?
Just wondering.
