[foxboro] API Connection problems

Recently we've been experiencing intermittent API connection problems.  One 
time we can go into API admin, select the server, get the password dialog box 
just fine.  The next time we try it'll tell us it couldn't make a connection to 
the server.  
 
This connection we're trying to make is from a Corp. windoz desktop (XP) to a 
"G" box via second ethernet port.  Whether we can connect or not, we can still 
ping the box so the ethernet connection doesn't seem to be the problem.
 
AIM API utilities installed on the desktop is 3.2.  Any thoughts? (my evil 
instincts make me want to think the IT folks have pushed some MS security 
patches that may be interfering.
