Reading about the lockups on 50 series reminded me of an outstanding problem
we suffer from here, on our 70 series stations.
We suffer intermittent lockups of our AW and WP70 mice/trackballs, whereby
only a reboot will get them working again. In our case it appears to be
directly attributable to using radios (walkie-talkies) near the systems.
Hard to avoid these types of radios in the control room at our site, so
after a lot of headscratching (sound familiar?) Foxboro suggested putting
ferrite cores on the cables. It didn't help much.
Anyone suffered from this, and found a rectification that did not involve
banning radios?
