[foxboro] 32bit/64bit confusion

We have B, D, and now F boxes at our location.
Obviously I'm abit confused, I thought that the F boxes were the first 64
bit Sun machines that Foxboro used. I'm in the process of fixing various
things so that they work in both places, and I need to determine which
architecture I'm running on. I was planning on using "arch -k" which is
supported even back to the ancinet Soalris 2.5 used on B and D boxe. On B
boxes it returns sun4m, which I understand to mean 32 bit, and on the f
boxes it returns sun4u, which I understabd to mean 64 bit. But, much to my
suprise, when I test this on a D box (running 6.5) I get sunmu.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what I isunderstand? And perhaps even make a
sugestion as to how to figure this out corectly?
Thanks.
