If you know anyone interested, a Ford Trimotor will be giving rides in
Albuquerque in April. It says “Fly the Ford,” but I bet they already have a
pilot. Anyway, sounds like fun.

FLY ON THE FORD Tri-motor, the aircraft that redefined world travel and marked

This 1928 relic of aviation history, affectionately called the “Tin Goose”, was
the largest civilian passenger aircraft of its time. Albuquerque shares
history with this aircraft, as a key stop along the 1920’s Transcontinental Air
Transport (TAT) route.

Special guest, Robert F. Kirk, author of “Flying the Lindbergh Line: Then and

the TAT’s Historic Aviation Vision, will speak at the airport Friday 1pm and
Saturday 10am and 1pm.
Friday and Saturday 7pm, location to be announced.
History displays by the CCHS Airway Heritage Museum at the Grants-Milan Airport
and the Albuquerque Cavalcade of Wings will highlight early navigation methods,
New Mexico’s TAT role, and remaining area beacon stations and concrete arrows
which guided pilots along the original route.

airplanes. Today, EAA is a community of recreational pilots and builders
dedicated to sharing our love of aviation. The Albuquerque EAA Chapter 179 is
