Hi all.
I put the below message out on the VICS and VIPS lists earlier today and
have discovered that my experience is not the only one. I have also had a
positive response from NCBI who are following up and I have made a
suggestion as to how we might next proceed. Anyway, here is my earlier
message.
I was at my dentist this morning and when I tried to pay by credit card
through the usual method of inputting my PIN, I was presented with a touch
screen rather than the usual buttons, which, of course, is completely
inaccessible to those without sight. I was told that these are new versions
and that they are being rolled out all over the country.
If this is the case, I think that we should be protesting as it will put us
at a considerable disadvantage if they start to appear in shops,
supermarkets and other outlets.
Anyone else come across this?
Paul
