Di X non sono esattamente un esperto, comunque dal log che hai postato non
noto errori evidenti.
Puo' essere - ma tiro praticamente ad indovinare - che tu abbia impostato
parametri troppo spinti per il tuo monitor o che sia sbagliato il driver
della scheda.
Posta anche l'XF86Config e dacci qualche dettaglio in piu' sull'hardware
(quale scheda, quale monitor etc.).
Ricorda sempre che piu' info dai, piu' probabilita' ci sono di ottenere una
risposta. :-)

Perchè nel log dà questi errori. E' possibile che VGA non vada bene? Il monitor 
è un Goldstar da 14 pollici
