I have already tried that out.
Just to update you that my IM server is installed on the same server
which is the front end server for my OWA and configured to use SSL.

Check this:
If your organization uses a firewall or proxy server, NTLM
authentication may not be working. The Instant Messaging client uses
Microsoft Internet Explorer proxy settings, so you must add your Instant
Messaging domain to the Internet Explorer Exceptions list. To modify the
Exceptions list:
1. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and later, click Internet
Options on the Tools menu. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x, click
Internet Options on the View menu.
2. Click the Connections tab.
3. Click the LAN Settings button.
4. Click the Advanced button in the Local Area Network (LAN)
Settings dialog box.
5. In the Exceptions box, under Do not use proxy server for
addresses beginning with, type your domain name preceded by an asterisk
(*). For example, if your domain were microsoft.com, you would type
*.microsoft.com.

Hi,
I've installed IM on one of the Exchange 2000 servers.
I have verified all the settings with Exchange 2000 documentation and it
seems OK.
I couldn't see any events related to IM in server's application logs.
I'm receiving below error on w3svc log file on server.
2002-07-19 11:49:22 172.16.32.110 - 172.16.32.129 80 SUBSCRIBE
/instmsg/aliases/ketanp - 403 -
While logging into exchange using IM from an XP client, I receive below
error.
Exchange Instant Messaging Authentication Failure
The person logged on to this computer does not have
permission to use the specified e-mail address. Please
type your e-mail address and password.
Can anybody help me?
