How much do you think you will regain? If it isn't over 30%, I wouldn't
bother.
Has online maintenance run to completion since did the "clean out old
users"? (Hunt for event log id 1121)
Has your deleted mailbox retention timeframe been exceeded or did you
manually purge the mailboxes?
