Further to Amal's comment, I should add that Exchange 2003 also has the
option to "Filter recipients who are not in the directory". This has
helped me out with the amount of spam headed for orphaned addresses.

Amal: May I ask how you would go about setting up your own DNSRBL
server, and the value of this. Also, how would you carry out the process
of IP blacklisting?
