Its pretty simple to change it to be an OR statement, create the filter as normal, and then open it and copy the LDAP query, then edit the query and select Custom Search and then paste your query in the Advanced tab, to make it an OR you use the vertical bar (|), so lets say you want everyone is Sales and Accounting it would look something like this: (|(department="Sales)(department=Accounting)) If you let me know exactly what your trying to do, I can paste the LDAP query here for you. I know that the standard filter logic is 'AND' and not 'OR' which is the cause of my problems someone suggested i use adsiedit to edit the ldap query so i can specifiy an or. is this right? if so i can't see where the gal filters end up in adsiedit thanks mark ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------
