i only ask because moving to exchange 2007 from ex2k3 in my company is about 90% dependent on SCR being in sp1 when it is offically relased.
if its not there, they may look at other platforms.
we are a very large bank and are mixed between Notes and Exchange and the absence of SCR migh make them filp to Notes completly whereas the presence of it would flip them the other way.

i hope the outcome is exchange and not Notes.
so i'm hoping SCR will be there........

Last time I checked, some roles work, other roles don't. Without checking, I don't think it's a supported install.

For stability, I think that Win2003sp2 + E2K7 + sp1 beta is VERY stable.

I could say lots of things about software development cycles, but the important thing you should try to realize is that the b3 fork for longhorn happened at an inauspicious time insofar as Exchange 2007 is concerned. The Exchange team has access to much later builds than b3.

Thanks for your opinions - always worthwhile reading.

Any views on the relative stability of Longhorn (W2K8) beta 3 + E2K7 + SP1 beta?

"am prohibited from saying what I have been told".

It's public knowledge that the "beta" of sp1 is "probably not" feature complete insofar as the final sp1 is concerned.

One could perhaps surmise that it was released when it was released in order to correct some of the glaring deficiencies that prevent Exchange 2007 at RTM from having feature parity in some specific areas with Exchange 2003 sp2. Microsoft might even suspect that, given how relatively few charges there were (in comparison to a normal full service pack) that a number of companies would be willing to install that beta into production in order to attain that feature parity – should those features be important to them.

Sayeth not - is that "refuses to say" or "says it is not" ?

From the web:

"A deponent is a witness who gives information about the crime under oath in a deposition."

Promising features and reneging - sounds like a crime to me!

so, while reading the pre relase notes, i see that sp1 beta does NOT have SCR included in it

can anyone confirm this and if so, does anyone know if it will still be due with the RTM sp1?

thanks
