OK, then you need another site with a separate internet connection. You specify that MX record as the secondary record (give it lower priority) and then most mail will flow to the primary. The secondary will catch mail when the first is busy or down. Otherwise you need to pay someone else to get your mail and foreword it. ________________________________ From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Alex Sent: Monday, January 22, 2007 3:27 PM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: exchange 200 2003 correct what i am worried about is that our internet lines go down and i only have 1 server i would like our mail to queue up somewhere until at&t comes up again ________________________________ From: exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:exchangelist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jensen, Douglas Sent: Monday, January 22, 2007 4:23 PM To: exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ExchangeList] Re: exchange 200 2003 It can be in the same site. You don't need different sites to have 2 exchange servers. You do need licenses for each server. If one is down, the other gets mail and keeps it till the first is back up. It would work the same if you had 2 servers in the same site. They both need MX records and IP addresses on the internet so other servers can find them.
