Bruce,
Yes, the corrupted items should be deleted from the PST file before
importing it. Most of the time the export to PST itself will fail when
the item is corrupted. When that happens you have to get rid of the
corrupted items using MDBVU32 from the IS even before you can export the
remaining items to a PST file.

I created a pst file and then deleted mailbox and then pull archive back
in to mailbox and guess what corrupted items again.

Hi,

Did you ever have a server crash or improper shutdown of Exchange? This
might indicate some corrupted pages in your Information store. Is the
backup completing nevertheless, or is it failing altogether? If the
backup is completing, first you make sure the backups are restorable by
using a recovery server. If the problem is limited only to these two
mailboxes, I would use the MDBVU32 utility to delete the corrupted items
from these mailboxes and see if that fixes the issue. Or in an extreme
case, you can backup the entire folder that contains the corrupted items
to a PST file, and delete the entire folder using MDBVU32. You can re
create the folders by running "outlook /resetfolders" from Run prompt.
If the problem keeps growing day by day, then you definitely need to run
a check and repair on your database. Try the MDBVU32 first, that should
help

I have an exchange 5.5 on win nt 4 and getting the following error
messages when backing up mailboxes using Veritas Backup Exec.

verify option is not enabled.. 

Any ideas/suggestions to fix this.
