We use Symantec Norton AntiVirus Enterprise edition and never had a
problem with exchange 2K. We just disable the realtime protection. We
also use Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2.5 for Microsoft Exchange in
addition to the regular client and works fine.

Roberto -
We had a similar problem on 5.5 with InnoculateIT. We would stop the
services but still see the poor performance. Once we uninstalled the
virus scanning software, the problem went away. You might want to try
that. You can always purchase a different virus scanning software -
Antigen you can download online (www.sybari.com). I've had good luck
with it.

Not sure if this will help but thought I would try...
