Hi William, Check out: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/I IS/a93765e4-fac8-41ae-bb94-a05fb2972703.mspx That'll give you a start. I would like to make some mail routing decisions based on information in a directory service that is independent of my active directory. I suppose I could setup a special AD domain to handle this but that seems like overkill. What I would like to do is: receive an email via Windows 2003 (IIS6) SMTP service and have an LDAP entry expand the address into a number of recipients and then send the message to each of those. Again I would like to use ADAM if possible. I have set this up by creating a Group in ADAM and setting its proxy address to be xyx@xxxxxxxxxxxxx The I created a user entry and configured its mail to be xyz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx . I then added the user to the group and sent the mail. The mail is now hanging out in the QUEUE. Thanks for the article link. Bill ________________________________ From: Michael B. Here is another resource that contains about the same material as the online help: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/I IS/a93765e4-fac8-41ae-bb94-a05fb2972703.mspx The main thing I've used it for is group expansion, for groups in active directory, on a DMZ server that is not part of that active directory. ________________________________ From: William Holmes [mailto:wtholmes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, December 12, 2005 2:53 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Windows SMTP LDAP tab http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hi, Does anyone know the function of the LDAP tab under the Windows SMTP services properties? Does anyone have a document or pointer to a document that explains this tab and how to use it?
