Hi,

is it just me or am I the only one saying: why 2 proc let alone 4 proc?

For a 500 user system, it should be comfortably handled with a P3/1GHz one
would think. A Linux P3/1GHz system can comfortably handle 2000 users,
all else being equal (disk space, RAM etc.) so why does Exchange need 4
procs Xeon 2.4GHz for the same load?

Perhaps there is a tendency to over-spec the server "just in case" ? Or
is it really necessary?

Mike
