Hello All,

I have a problem that maybe me intolerably simple as they usually are..
I have set up SBS 2003 Premium edition with 2 NIC's one to to the external
ISP for internet and one for the office LAN. The server is being used as a
firewall, email and file server for the office.
Upon running the Internet Connection and Mail wizard it fails at both
firewall ( prob. cos I have ISA server ) and email.
When I run the internet mail wizard it complains of two cards.
How do I get around this?

Kind regards
Jagdeep Singh Mahal

If you set the Exchange rich-text format option to Never use, Exchange
converts messages to plain text, which an external mail system that doesn't
support RTF or HTML messages might require

Anyway what was your MIME setting on your Global Setting.?

Cheers
Gill

Hi,

I have made the following setting change...

Open Exchange Manager
Click Global Settings
Click Internet Messaging format
Got properties of the default format
Clicked Advanced Tab
Set Exchange Rich Text format to "never use"

Hope this works! Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

In OWA it goes out as Rich Text. If it was HTML, the attachment would have
been a .html attachment.

Ok, thanks for the info.

All my users are using OWA (Outlook Web Access). By default everything goes
out as HTML obviously.
Where to from here? Is there a way to force OWA to go text?

Thanks,
Chris

winmail.dat = RTF
Have your users send in plain text format.

Hi all,

I have a problem.

Running Exchange 2003 (NO-SP1) on Windows 2003 Standard Server. All is
running good.
Our Users are using OWA over HTTPS/SSL.

When users send email with an attachment, some of the recipients recieve a
win.dat or winmail.dat attachment, and that's all.
The users experiencing this problem are using a web-based email client
(non-Microsoft) which also does not appear to support HTML within the
message.

I am told that this is my problem. Im thinking 'no'.
Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks,
Chris
