Trying to do a test restore with NTBackup on a Windows Server 2003, but I am experiencing nothing but failures. Exchange Server 2003. To prepare for the test restore, I performed an online backup with NTBackup. Then I deleted the contents of the MDBDATA directory. Now I am trying to restore. 1) I have dis-mounted the mailbox and public folder 2) Enabled the DB's to be overwritten by restore 3) Followed all the suggestions outlined within the MS help files (most aren't relevant, as per usual), except for Q296841 (ADSI edit method) NTBackup report: Restore Status Operation: Restore Backup of "MAIL\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group", Restored to"MAIL\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group" Backup set #1 on media #1 Backup description: "Set created 08/01/2005 at 1:15 AM" Restore started on 11/01/2005 at 10:45 AM.
