What we use certainly appears adaquate for the job. Our site supports 1000 users and our Exchange system exists of: * Main Server - Compaq ML 570, Dual 1.2Ghz, 1.5G Ram, Dual NIC for load balancing * Exchange 2K on Win2k both with all SP's available * "C" drive mirrored 9Gig for OS & Exchange software * "D" drive 9Gig for paging file * "E" drive 36Gig mirrored for Exchange logs * 1 empty drive bay for expansion * External SCSI box with 7 36Gig RAID 5 Array providing around 210Gig space for Group Stores. * GFI Essential & GFI Security for obvious reasons * 2 Win2K Servers in the DMZ of our network for SMTP traffic in & Out (redundancy), both with GFI Security * 1 Win2k Server that only does OWA. * (these last 3 servers are Compaq ML 530) Of our 1000 users, only half expect to use Exchange via Outlook, the rest will use Web Access due to the nature of their job. I've stress tested the system for user loading and it does not get crunched. If anyone sees an obviose problem with my config, please let me know how I can improve on it! I back the system up with Arcserve to brick level nightly, and defrag it weekly Doug Stelley Network Admin. I'd like to hear some "real world" recommendations for a server to support around 600 mailboxes in a single site now with expansion to 1000 in the next 5 years. Thanks!
